    • Zero tolerance for poor sportsmanship. No sharking, bitching, complaining about handicaps. Don’t make me the bad guy. I’m not afraid to DQ anyone

    Warnings

    • Do not walk around the table while your opponent is shooting.

    • Do not grab chalk off of the table while your opponent is shooting.  Stay in one spot.

    • Do not talk to your opponent while shooting. Let’s also try to be aware of others that are shooting. If someone is playing a game, please wait until that game is over to talk to them.

    Loss Of Game

    • If you say “good game”, before they shoot the $$$ ball, the game is conceded.

    Automatic DQ

    • If you slam a stick on the table or knock balls off the table

    Policies

    • ALCOHOL - I cannot restrict people from drinking, but what I can do, is say that if you are drinking, you lose all credibility and benefit of doubt in any questionable situation

    • EARBUDS - No earbuds are allowed. If you require hearing aides, etc, please let me know before the tournament, and your opponent before the match.

    • DO NOT ENGAGE POLICY - We are all allowed to question another players intentions BEFORE a shot, but I will not allow any disagreements between 2 PLAYERS. If there is a dispute of ANY KIND, please come get me. This DO NOT ENGAGE policy will be very very very strict! If any party gets loud and I have to come over to separate, they will be IMMEDIATELY DQ’d for disrupting the tournament and other players. I’m done with MACHO BULLSHIT and PRIDE and I’m done with people who can’t just play pool. I repeat, DO NOT ENGAGE!!!! If someone says something that you disagree with, you come and get me and I will resolve the dispute accordingly. If you DO NOT COME AND GET ME, you are just as at fault! Check your PRIDE, EGO, & TONE at the door

  • Close Shots

The biggest cause of grief and arguments in tournaments that I’ve seen are close shots…Close shots SHOULD be filmed.

    • If you need a shot watched, FILM IT in slo-mo - It is the NON-SHOOTERS responsibility to ask for the shot to be watched, but i would prefer if SHOOTERS also get in the habit of asking their own shots to be watched

    • If you are SHOOTING, and it’s close, give the non shooting player a chance to analyze. This means 10 seconds AFTER the cue ball stops moving….this does NOT mean 10 seconds AFTER a shot is called. Players need to be aware of the table AT ALL TIMES. You CANNOT stop them once they are in warmup strokes.

    • If you are not shooting, you have to ask for MOST shots to be watched….

    • EXCEPTIONS - These shots must be filmed, if there is a dispute, and these shots were NOT filmed, it is automatically a FOUL. Do not abuse this privilege, don’t be a rat. Both players should be working with each other to get close shots filmed!

      • If a ball is LESS than 2 balls width from the rail, and you are kicking at it

      • EVERY FROZEN BALL SCENARIO

      • If the cue is less than a chalk distance from object ball

    • IT IS NOT UNSPORTSMANLIKE to CONFIRM if you have ball in hand after a shot by simply asking “Ball in hand?” OR “Foul?” I would PREFER that the SHOOTER acknowledge a FOUL before the NON SHOOTER has to ask

    • IT IS UNSPORTSMANLIKE to say anything else….such as ANYTHING REGARDING YOUR OPINION ON THE SHOT.

    • BCA rules - Flip or lag for break

    • Rack your own - Can’t win/lose on the break - $$Ball spots immediately or re-rack

    • Call ball & pocket, no slop

    • You can call safety and make a ball

    • Call non obvious shots! (Ball & Pocket) Situations

      • If the cue ball goes directly into object ball, and that object ball goes straight into the pocket, then it is obvious, you don’t have to call

      • If the cue ball hits a rail before contacting the object ball (kick or bank), you must call

      • If the object ball is being banked, you must call

      • If the cue ball or object ball caroms off of another ball, you must call

    • Racking - a solid and stripe on the wing, 8 ball in midddle

    • Open after the break (Cannot use 8 as 1st ball).

    • Cue ball scratch on 8 is NOT a loss unless 8 ball is pocketed.

    • In the $$$ rounds, if it is hill/hill and your opponent hits a break and run, you have a chance to cancel that game with a break and run yourself. If both players break and run, the next game stands regardless of break and run

    • This isn’t meant to be strict…..it is meant to keep people moving and accountable for their speed.

    • It is a “Soft” time limit, meaning you can go over, but you MUST have called your shot, be in your stance and down on the cue ball BEFORE the time limit. If a player is a few seconds over, that’s generally ok. If they are about ready to shoot their shot, don’t be an asshole and interrupt them because the time limit hit exactly. The whole point is to keep things moving, not cause interruptions. The SPIRIT of the rule is to stop 60-90 second shots, every shot….NOT 31 second shots. I don’t like rats….if I find that a certain player is ratting out other players throughout the tournament, I will investigate, and you risk possible DQ. Play efficient, play quick, communicate with each other, be a good sport, help your opponent play efficient and quickly. If you feel that your opponent is taking advantage of your niceness, then please come and get me.

    • Once ALL balls stop moving, shot clock begins

    • You CANNOT change your shot OR stand up AFTER time limit

    • Players are allowed 1 single 60 second EXTENSION per rack.

    • Players are allowed to look for a bridge AFTER you have decided your shot, this will NOT be a shot clock violation provided your shot decision was within time limit. I do not want players thinking about their shot while they are searching for a bridge….and then change their shot.

    • Players are allowed to look for a referee AFTER you have decided your shot, this will NOT be a shot clock violation provided your shot decision was within time limit. The SHOOTER must go get the referee, and CANNOT change their shot, don’t waste my time If you come and get me, and then change your shot, IT IS A FOUL.

    • Players are NOT allowed EXTRA time to put together a jump cue

    • Violations - For each individual MATCH.

      • 1st - Warning, players must come and get me

      • 2nd - Ball In Hand Foul

      • 3rd - Loss Of Game

      • 4th - Loss of Match

    • If a player has MORE THAN 7 violations combined in the TOURNAMENT, they will be DISQUALIFIED. After each match, players must report Violations

  • Match Clock

You be be allowed to finish your current game at the end of your allotted time

    • If a match is hill hill at the end of the allotted match clock time, players will be allowed to complete the last game, with a 30 second shot clock

    • If a match is NOT hill hill at the end of the allotted match clock time, but ONE player is on the hill, that player wins

    • If neither player is on the hill, BOTH PLAYERS are DISQUALIFIED for slow play

  • It is UNSPORTSMANLIKE to use a bathroom break as a sharking tactic

    • Group A & B allowed 1 BATHROOM break of 5 minutes, if longer than 5 minutes, you forfeit the next game

    • Group C & D, if you take a bathroom break, you are automatically on a 30 second shot clock for the rest of the match.

    • I’m not an asshole, if you need a break BEFORE your match starts, let me know, I will give you whatever time you need for BATHROOM and FOOD…..NOT to smoke…do that on your own time. If I catch you outside smoking while on a bathroom/food break, you forfeit your match.

    • I’ve noticed a growing trend of players trying to pattern rack, manipulate the head ball, etc, etc. It should not take more than 15 seconds to rack. I understand balls sometimes grab the rack and move. You have 3x to reset balls and pull the rack ( A total time of 60 seconds ). After that, you come and get me. I will either rack or ask someone to rack. YOU CANNOT LOOK AT THE RACK, YOU MUST BREAK. If you don’t break, you forfeit the game. I don’t care if you think it’s fair or not…..because what’s not fair is you taking 5+ minutes to rack and slow down the tournament for everyone else.

    • Players will keep score through the DigitalPool app/texting/tablets

    • Players can use blank scoresheets as well to fill in their violations, extensions, and initial breaker

    • If there is room in the area, you can have 1 other person sit and watch your match. Keep the chat to a minimum during each rack, or you risk being called out for being coached. Between racks talking is fine. Use them to your advantage if you need food/drinks. Do not make me the bad guy and ban your partner from the area.
