Handicaps
Since most pool halls and billiards clubs are supported by leagues, I will use an established Fargorate as a starting handicap. Established means over 1000 games in Fargo . If you have less than 1000 games of Fargo, I may use that, I may not. You subject yourself to whatever rank I deem fit. I will also honor JerseyGirl rankings. If you are not established, I WILL over rank you, to be fair to everyone. Don’t Like it? Don’t Play.
Updates
I strictly go by win%. I don’t care that you think that this other player is better than you, so why are they ranked with more chips. The more games you play, the more proper rank you will get. I REWARD PLAYERS for playing in my tournaments and being loyal. Once you have 75+ DGAF Games this will be the chart you will have an Established rating and I will go by the chart below.
No player can drop or increase more than 1 rank after an update. I’m not going to neuter someone for having a great tournament and drop them 2-3 chips, just like I won’t allow a sand bagger to add 2-3 chips. If a player is 1 rank off, this is most likely the reason.
If a player has not played in a tournament within 4 MONTHS, their RANKING will be reset. GAMES will not
99% of players are basically where they should be, they can win every tournament they play in, if they play to their skill level.
3s = 75%+
4’s = 69% - 74%
5s - 63% - 68%
6s - 59% - 62%
7s= 55% - 58%
8s - 51%-54%
9s - 46%-50%
10s - 40%-45%
11s - 35%-39%
12s - Under 34%
Established + Bonus
Once you have 75 DGAF Games, you will have an established ranking. there are 2 bonuses to an established ranking
Unestablished players can only go to an 7 max, whereas established goes to 12
Established players can receive the bonus $$$ spot in some of the tournaments
Starting Handicap Chart
If you have 1000+ games in Fargo, I will use this chart. If not, you subject yourself to whatever ranking we deem fit
641 Up - 3 Losses
601-640 - 4 Losses
551-600 - 5 Losses
501-550 - 6 Losses
500 Under - 7 Losses
Weighted Games + Sandbagging
I have the weekly tournaments and the larger $$$ entry tournaments, and they are not weighted the same in my handicap system. Monthly, larger tournaments count 2x-3x more. This creates a fairer overall rating for every player. If the big $$$ is on the line, and you play above or below your handicap, your handicap will be adjusted afterwards to reflect that because there are more games to count. This also prevents sandbagging in the weekly tournaments, as they just don’t count against your rating as much.
